WARSAW, Poland, 30 Sept 2026 — Boeing and Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna (WAT), Poland’s Military University of Technology, signed a key offset implementation agreement to support knowledge transfer, tooling, and training for Poland’s AH-64E Apache helicopter program. Honorata Hencel, Managing Director Boeing Poland and Ukraine and Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr hab. inż. Przemysław Wachulak, Commandant-Rector of Military University of Technology formalized the agreement at the WAT facility in Warsaw
The agreement covers two projects at WAT’s facilities in Warsaw. Boeing will assist in establishing in-country training for organizational and intermediate levels of maintenance. This initiative targets Polish Armed Forces personnel and WZL-1 maintenance teams as they support the AH-64E Apache fleet. The work includes facilities and infrastructure assessment, Apache-like maintenance training devices, classroom virtual maintenance trainers, related tooling and train-the-trainer instruction to build local capability.
In a second project, Boeing will support WAT in developing a university laboratory of advanced composite structures. That effort includes knowledge transfer from Boeing subject matter experts, laboratory process recommendations and equipment to help build out the facility.
“The agreement with Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna strengthens Boeing’s partnership with Poland and supports the development of in-country AH-64E maintenance training for Polish Armed Forces personnel and WZL-1 mechanics,” said Honorata Hencel, Managing Director Boeing Poland and Ukraine. “By helping WAT establish maintenance training and a composite laboratory, Boeing is supporting the capabilities needed to sustain Poland’s Apache fleet.”
"For 75 years, the Academy has been training aviation engineering personnel in the field of Aerospace Engineering at the Faculty of Mechatronics, Armament and Aerospace,” said Brig. Gen. Prof. Przemysław Wachulak, Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology (WAT). “The signed agreement expands our capabilities to include training directly linked to the deployment of modern helicopters. At our university, we will establish a Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian Helicopter Training Center and an Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory. We will provide the necessary infrastructure and experienced instructors, as well as train engineers and technicians to meet the needs of military aviation. Our theoretical and practical training will utilize a virtual simulator, a helicopter, and a training engine. In the future, our role will also include certifying and maintaining the flight training process in accordance with European Military Airworthiness Requirements (EMAR).”
Poland has contracted for 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters. As the 19th nation operating the Apache, Poland is set to become the world’s second-largest Apache operator after the United States with the addition of its AH-64E fleet. Approximately 1,300 Apache helicopters are in operation worldwide.
